About WAG Rescue

The mission of Wimberley Adoption Group & Rescue (WAG Rescue)...

is to help alleviate overcrowding in Central Texas shelters and provide dog adoption services to the community. WAG Rescue incorporated June 25, 2009, and officially became a nonprofit 501(c)(3) public charity in October 2009 (EIN #27-0425562). Patricia Davis and Debbie Nordyke, Co-Founders, saw the need for a dog rescue organization based on the large number of found, unclaimed dogs and puppies in the Wimberley area. WAG Rescue partners with many Central Texas shelters to take in any dog or puppy, regardless of their age or condition, and provide them with the vet care, socialization and training they need to get adopted. WAG Rescue also serves as a resource for all lost and found animals in western Hays County.

From the outset, WAG Rescue established working relationships with local veterinary clinics and regional animal emergency hospitals. They have all graciously given us discounted rates on veterinary care, meds, specialty treatments and surgeries for our dogs. We could not function without their support and the excellent care they provide our dogs. Our vision is to continue to meet the dog rescue needs of our growing community. It is our goal to build a modest, climate-controlled facility on our refuge property where our dogs can be housed in inclement weather and where we can quarantine and provide specialized care for incoming dogs and puppies. Construction is underway.
